Don't really know what I'm looking at here. Picked it up yesterday because it's fascinating. what is it?: This area had a huge lake for a while, but I think only a few tens of thousands of years. Not sure about history before that. In one photo, one can see a couple of "pocks" where these features have broken loose from the matrix, so they seem not to have any length. Thanks for your thoughts! Argh

Clarification. The second photo shows what looks like individual ring type segments of Sea Lily's. Not saying this is what they are, but resemble only.

I agree it looks more like seal lily stems. Do you have any picks of the fossils from their sides?

I agree it looks more like seal lily stems. Do you have any picks of the fossils from their sides? Good idea. When I get some time I'll go at it with a dental pick and see if I can pry one loose.

I would support the call for an image in long section and / or that you polish one so that we can see any fine detail. Long and cross-section ideally 😁
