Hey all. Just got back from lparker's where I had a great visit and got myself a bunch of rocks. Lee has a great pile of assorted agates and jaspers to pick through and I found what looks to me like Montana Agate (at least it looks sorta like the pictures of MA I've seen). Is this what I've got or something else entirely?

Those look like Sweetwater agates to me, maybe ones that are not so rolled and sandblasted because they have not traveled far from the original deposit. They make wonderful tumbles and they fluoresce too. From around Jeffery, WY region..Mel

Thanks for the info! To check the florescence do I need long or short wave UV?

Should be shortwave I believe. The agates usually fluoresce sort of yellow green....Mel
