These rough rocks were in the Specimen Box from Chuck. The two largest pieces remind me of some slabs I received. I added the slabs for comparison. Are these Serraphinite? If not, then what? Changed the Subject based on what Tela said below. ID's on anything else appreciated, too. Thanks.

The slabs are serraphinite. Do you think the rough is the same? I know the slabs were Id's here before. I did not attach the ID to the slabs. Will do that this time. Thanks

Serraphinite is very soft. Is your rock very soft?

Here's the mindat on seraphinite www.mindat.org/min-27184.htmlAccording to wiki it is a 3-4- very soft. If yours is seraphinite, it is a poor quality. Unless you cut it open and find that green.

Really do not care about quality, just was looking for an ID. If it is Seraphinite then it has the following attributes. These are very important for some of my regualr customers for both jewelry or rough rocks.
Seraphinite assists in releasing emotional patterns and tendencies that no longer serve the soul and spirit. It brings an enlightened, joyful energy and allows one to react to life in a balanced, more harmonious way.
This stone encourages the appreciation of all that is growing - physically, emotionally or spiritually, and encourages the refinements of tenderness and care. It defines a sense of order - in life, in the universe, even in chaos - lending the understanding that one is neither helpless nor hopeless in the creation or correction of one's personal reality.
Seraphinite enhances social skills and inspires better relationships. It aids in resolving conflicts, and promotes reconciliation and constructive compromise.
Understand that many here would consider this info BS, but for some, it is very real.

And, yes, I read about the healing stuff, too.

To those I provide rough rocks to, quality is not that important. As opposed to lapidary quality items. They just want the rock for its healing attributes. Already have someone who wants the smaller specimen of this. It will be a trade, as I never sell anything for healing purposes.
I was a little concerned at first, about providing lower quality specimens to people where I live. Was assured that just having local access to certain rocks was a blessing. Them not needing to pay for shipping and purchasing sight unseen on internet. They appreciate to actually hold the specimen in their hands first. Usually a variety of specimens. They can choose the one which speaks to them. Trading for oils, elixirs, foods, old jewelry, rocks, etc.
Strange to some, but something I understand.

I don't see why you need to defend yourself. This board generally discusses lapidary materials, which is why I mentioned that it would probably be a lower grade material. I understand that seraphinite is a sought after healing stone. I have sold some as such myself. I had no idea that you were referring to healing stones. How could I? At any rate, I hope you find a good home fro them.

Was not referring to healing property at first, but when you said they were lower quality, figured I would mention potential for that. No worries.

Would better quality have better healing properties? From what I have been told by others, not necessarily. I might let someone pick from a selection of certain rocks. Almost always, they pick one that would not be considered the best lapidary quality. A lot depends on their plan for the rock. It could just be a local thing, too.
