Throw the rocks in about 3/4 full, add 60/90 grit, about a half pound per 20 pound barrel, and we're off to the races!

One more, FWIW...... Since I have been running the Big Crazy's I am conscious of the overall weight recommendation, so I measure everything. My sequence is: put the big rock in first, add and weigh fillers, Bahia's primarily, and then add 8 pounds of grit, being the recommended amount for the 65T big barrel. My target is to get to the 3/4 full mark I have on the inside of the barrel. When at that level, I weigh and add water until it just covers the rocks. So far no real tumbling issues really except the sludge does seem a bit thick after ten-twenty days. So in support of fernwoods comments about the notion "Layering for Rotary," I am in a way layering, being rock, fill, grit plus water. I do however agree with the consensus, once the rotary function kicks in, everything gets mixed. Cheers. johnw
