Dang. That's not good at all... I moved my tumbler in from the garage. I don't know if it was the cold or what but it was moving slowly. Now it's inside and doing better...if it does that in one of my bedrooms I'm pretty sure it would get booted back into the garage.

Maybe put it inside some type of tub or large lipped baking pan just in case when it's in the house.

It's awesome that she is interested, however! Have you tried The Rock Shed? Maybe you could get faster shipping. Good luck!

Canada Post is on a work slowdown and have a huge backlog of parcels. Stuff I ordered in the last week of Nov (with 2 days shipping) is only now arriving. If you buy something in Canada, I would suggest using a courier. However, I still like to have items from the USA shipped via USPS, because the couriers charge extra to take care of the customs. I love northern BC and plan to be in Atlin next summer.

Makes me think though - mine are in the garage, but some preventive rearrangement is in order as a "just in case"...

Well she was up first thing this morning ready to start the next step... changed it up and after we cleaned everything from step 1 I have it a hour run with just borax, ivory and some plastic beads.. we were surprised how dirty it was and how much better they looked... now off to step 2 till next weekend...
Was laughing as when I was a kid dad found me a tumbler. He was a truck driver and brought me a 5 gal pail of plastic beads... he told me that's all I needed.. ran it all summer and nothing ever happened... was so disappointed.. never touched it again..lol

I just use clean water. You can save your ivory soap for after step 4 - polishing (when you burnish).

Well she finally finished this batch. Turned out pretty good was surprised to see the gold ones hold the gold color and one has a purple tint to it in the light seems to be the same type of rock as the gold
