Greatest rock hunting' partner captbob feeding cats before dinner after long day Critters on the Rio including this stallion protecting his ladies whom simply did not like me. Evening meals, eateries. Cherished ice cream parlor with perhaps illicit activity within. A few S. Texas ranch entry gates Constant DEA presence Long days collecting out of vehicle Vistas and views, most toward south Agates as found. Some collections of agates found in 2 to 3 hours in a 200 foot radius or shore line hike. Individual agates/wood/jaspers and all windowed for quality check. Close ups of agate rich grounds and shores Back home after 19 days. Unloading and ready to get rest. Early shipments of LFRB's shipped home Start tumbling !!

I can not tell you how large the collecting area is out there. I did sample along 300 - 400 ? miles of the Rio and there was fine agates the whole way. Lake Falcon alone is an infinite supply.

Excellent trip report! Thanks for the pics! Looks like you had a blast! I am envious of you westerners Bluesky78987. You guys have such nice rocks and collecting conditions with fine weather and open ground. Darn wife won't let me escape the south.

So when are you gonna get back out there? If my contact out there will let me I may go this winter. It would be best if captbob went too since he and our collecting styles are similar. I believe he has more energy. Plus he was fun to watch - like a kid in a candy jar. I don't worry about the dangers. The crime rate is 100's of times worse here in S Atlanta. The only difference is that abductions related to the drug industry made into a big drama by the press. I only know of 3 incidences over a 10 year period around Lake Falcon. The town to stay away from in that area is Laredo.
