Those are freaking gorgeous Tommy! My favorites list would be a long post. However, I'm really drawn to the wildflowers rhyolite - where is that from? Is it old stock or can you still get it (hunt or buy)? The answer is I don't know, I don't know, and ... I don't know. hahaha But seriously though, the short story is it is most likely an orbicular rhyolite from Mexico. The long (coffee'd up) story is a gem show vendor named Dave that I've become friends with over the years took me aside all excited to show me a bin full of large slabs he cut from an unidentified rock that was in a shipment he got from Mexico. I loved it instantly for the wildflowers patterns and I bought up all the slabs he had - and then proceeded to buy all of the remaining slabs as fast as he could cut more between shows. I literally did this probably six times until he ran out of slabs, and then I bought the end-cuts of the rock when I saw he had put them out on his rough rock table. I had fun marking up and cutting all the slabs and I've got a drawer full of preforms that I dip into whenever my hands need a break because it's medium soft and forgiving like leopardskin jasper. Dave and I both think that it is a one-off material probably found somewhere around where they find leopardskin jasper but agreed that it is distinctly different from leopardskin in colors and patterns. He was good with me naming it Wildflowers and I'll keep calling it that until it shows up elsewhere on the market, maybe as a new discovery called something entirely different. That really would be par for the course with how things go with me

Beautiful material and cabs! Hard to pick a favorite, but that brecciated California jasp-agate really catches my eye.

Awesome cabs all!!!! I like your "Horny toads" for Hornitos *L*. Funny story. Cal Fish and Game was looking for a population of the rare horned lizards found up the in the gold county by our old ranch. They were all over the place by the manzanita thickets up where the Hornitos Jasper deposits were. Just had to be rock hunting at the proper time of day. Horned lizards are one of the first lizards out in the AM and I'd dig in the morning when it was still cool. Perfect time to spot them sunning themselves. That red brecciated jasper comes from a ranch just over the hill to the east towards Coalinga from Parkfield, CA. Very similar Franciscan chert/jasper from up at Stony Creek too....Mel

Have to say the one off from the lake agate was a pretty good find by your son. The most fun part of this is it was found a few years ago while we were in the teeth of a drought and the lake was nearly empty. The spot where it was found is right now about 100 yards out from the current water line. We stayed at the lake earlier this year and it was in flood stage.

Wow just amazing! Tommy what kind of camera did you use to take these pics? Hi Julie, just my cell phone camera. I don't even own a big boy camera and I'm not sure I could figure it out if I did

Ok well I use my I phone and my pics look like crap. Do you take the pic and load it straight from the phone? Somehow I haven't figured out how to do that. I've been emailing them to myself and then posting them... maybe this reduces the quality?

I do a ton of this with my Etsy item photos then delete it all after posting.

I've been emailing them to myself and then posting them... maybe this reduces the quality? Well, just know that all cell phone cameras aren't created equal. There are hardware limitations, firmware limitations, and ultimately (software) processing limitations. To be blunt, your cell camera might lack when compared to others that are out there. Don't know. It's not a criticism...it just may be what you're dealing with. For instance, I'm extremely happy with what my cell phone might do with landscape photos, but the jury is still out when it comes to close up stuff. The only time you'll get some measure of control is by using a DSLR (Digital Single Lens Reflex) camera to control a few different settings. If you're not using one of those cameras, you'll be at the mercy (or benefit) of what a cell phone manufacturer will give you.

I have an Iphone and my search told me this: All iPhone 6s models have a 4.7" (diagonal) widescreen pressure-sensitive "3D Touch" LED-backlit 1334x750 native resolution (326 ppi) "Retina HD" display with "IPS technology and a taptic engine," dual cameras -- a rear 12 megapixel, 4K "iSight" camera with 1.22 micron pixels, an f/2.2 aperture, and support for simultaneous 4K video and 8 megapixel still photography as well as a front 5 megapixel, 720p "FaceTime" camera.
Clueless if it's any good.

If you get the Tapatalk app. You can post straight to the site from your phone and the photos look fine from my IPhone 5. Yours has a much better camera. Vic

LOL Vic I was spared this fate because a good customer of mine saw the stone here on the board and ended up buying it after I twisted her arm with a dramatically reduced price Win win and my fat fingers are happy they don't have to make small cabs
