I normally only produce cabs for enjoyment in this hobby but have included several pictures of the vibe with slabs. The pictures indicate parts of the method that I use and show the vibe at different stages. 1 Montana and yellow skin agate 2 cabs ready to vibe 3 shows fullness and media mix 4 shows slab size vs bowl size 5 preformed cabs are dopped 6 cabs ready for shaping 7 smaller media attached to top 8 bowl bottom eaten away by use 9 tangerines in yard

Thanks for the ride! I don't quite get it, but I don't tumble. Looks like you vibe tumble and then dop?
The tangerines look so inviting!

My method starts with the slab where I mark and cut out the area to be cabbed. I then shape the outside cab shape and then dop and dome the shape on a 60 grit 8" flat lap. This is followed by a a number of steps in the vibe.

Stephan, the tangerines, peaches, apricots and persimmons come in when I take a break from grinding and shaping. I am also a horticulturist and enjoy working in the yard when not doing lapidary work.
