Isn't the appearance of color partially just an opinion? you're not naming the stone you're describing how it looks. If you place this stone between a white item and a green or orange item does it look blue? Make sure the surface it rests on isn't showing through.

I had to look it up to see if the theme was disappointment! So many parts of the forum that I haven't poked around in...I may submit it. Probably should get a decent picture though 😊 Yes, enter it. I like rockjunquie 's idea of a colored bezel or backing. I have been considering doing that with some cabs. Really like the rough material. Thanks fernwood. The rough looks killer for sure and I really thought I had some nice blue, which is so hard to find. I'm definitely going to try rockjunquie 's suggestion with a colored bezel. I'll post a picture when I do.

John, I've had similar experiences with my "blue" turning to gray when cabbed. Try a high-dome cab and glue a thin piece of black material on the back, like basanite. That should bring back the "blue". You can check out this effect by putting a WET piece of black material against your current cab.

I'll give that a try as well.
