hi all, am trying to get a higher shine on my seashells. shells have a 5 mohs hardness, I use 120 220 carbon grit for 5 days, then 500 a o pre polish for 3 days, then 1000 a o pre polish for 3 days, then a o polish for 7 days all from rock shed. am trying tin oxide for 7 days hope it will give me a better shine. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks joejan
ps shells have a good shine, but I have seen some with a much higher shine.

I moved your thread to the tumbling section. I hope that helps.

I've polished sea shells in a vibe, not a rotary...and have never gotten a really high gloss. That said, I've found that having a LOT of small round pre-polished pebbles and/or ceramic pellets in the mix helps.
