California is out of my normal range, but I might be taking my mom to spend a week with her sister in Riverside in March. I would plan on a couple of outings into the area.
I am guessing collecting areas around Barstow might be the way for me to go.

Though some of the remote areas are 2 vehicle routes. Lavic is one area, I think N Cadys is another that I could access.

I know Scott bought it, so perhaps he can give you a review. I don't have the new edition, so I haven't tested it out.

I'm better with south cadies. Nothing cadies I've only been to a few spots and they are hit hard. New secret spots aren't shared by the heavy hitters. Easieer access in the south

I hope the surgery and recovery goes well. I have an Uncle who had a knee and both hips replaced and he is doing well. It is amazing. He won't be running marathons but he gets around very well.

Wish her all the best on the surgery. I have a left knee replacement and I am so happy with it. She'll be up walking the same day or the next, but will probably need a walker, then crutches. Might be a little ambitious to hit the desert trails in March. I still coach high school soccer with mine. I'll have to have my right knee done eventually, but so far so good. She'll love it.

I can't stack up the trips too much or I'll get in trouble...LOL! I'll know more by the end of the month.

Hope to see you both and meet you Craig!
