A few weeks ago, my back just said "Hell with you" and blew a disk! Finally got into the VA and have an MRI coming up.... Sounds like doing nothing for six weeks or so! Dang, spring is here and that's my busy time!! Oh well said the digger!! No lifting, carrying or pushing.. Riding in my trk, kicks my ass too.... Well I will just get a chair and park it by my rock pile and poke it with a stick! Hahahahaha Rivers are high and still wet in most areas, so no hounding yet...(That puts me at ease a bit)..

Well I will just get a chair and park it by my rock pile and poke it with a stick! Well, at least you didn't injure your sense of humor. Yep, take the pressure off it, rest it up and allow it to heal so you're ready to get around once the weather improves and the mud dries up!

Don;t really like this posting. Heal quickly so you can get back to what you love.
Healing quickly means following any restrictions so you can heal.

Get better quick Michael - although poking rocks with sticks don't sound half bad.

Sorry you are ailing. I like the idea of sitting in the sunshine, poking rocks with a stick, listening to the birds and bugs, and thinking about nothing.
Enjoy this time!

Doh! I'm really sorry to hear this. Most of these injuries will resolve on their own over time, and with some NSAID use. Just be sure to use over the counter Prilosec if you take a lot of NSAIDS (ibuprofen etc) to prevent gastric ulcers. I'm a doc - see these commonly.
Heal fast.

I'm so sorry about your back. Not much sucks more than a bad back. Take it easy, don't push it and heal quickly! Make sure the stick you use to poke the rocks is long enough so you don't have to reach too far!

I'm sorry. I know how much that hurts. I hope you mend quickly and get back to what you love. Don't do a lot of twisting, either. I also hope the VA does you right.

Sorry to hear about the back trouble. Been there, done that.
Did they tell you which disk yet? Mine was L5/S1 - right at the bottom. Had a microscopic diskectomy eventually that did relieve the pain. Very small incision with no overnight hospital stay. Hope yours doesn't require too much work.

Did the VA yesterday, will head up to Portland for MRI in a week or so..... He thinks its the L3 - L4 - L5 area.... I have no protection in that area from my spinal decompression surgery years back..(Taking out bone) MRI will tell the story.... No bend without knees, no twisting and lifting from the ground... I can deal with it, I know a few tricks that I can do without harming my back... All is good, I was pushing hard this early spring, body said the hell with that "BOOM" Hahahahahaha.... Take it with a grain of salt.. I can still walk, that's a bonus.... Cheers..
