I picked up this chunk of agate from an estate sale. It is about 4" by 6" by 4". Thanks for helping! Hi Ann, that's a tough one. Some years back I had a small slab of material from the man who said he collected it south of Fernley Nevada and that it was extremely rare - could be that he was just driving the cost up but I've never seen anything else quite like it. Anyway, it reminds me a lot of your piece although what I got from him did not have any red in it at all. All I have left is this photo of the cabochon that I made and sold from the slab. I've also collected a similar color green moss from Holt Canyon Utah although the moss was much more stringy and less organized in bands. Maybe zarguy can chime on the possibility of Holt as the source.

Thank you Tommy. I see the similarities and the red isn't that prevalent in my piece. Nice cab!

I have no clue what you've got there. If you need a name so you can tell the customer, just call it tube agate. Lynn
