My two year old found this in a rock retaining wall in our yard. I'm guessing it's fossiliferous limestone, but I'm not sure what the crystal is. It scratches glass, but it fizzes loudly with vinegar. We're just outside St Louis, Missouri. Thanks ahead of time. This one is going on my son's shelf.

The fizzing would be from the calcite content. The rest could be quartz.
