I made this little guy a couple weeks back out of some of the Wyoming bonsai stone that I got from shink but I keep forgetting to post it. As soon as I cut the slab, I saw a turtle so it was meant to be!

Gorgeous! Great design and follow though. I like it, too. May we see more?

Very clever and executed so well — congratulations! Have you thought about signing it? (Maybe with a small ball bur or even a scribe?) It's designed and executed so well that, if I saw it, I'd want to turn it over to know who the artist is.

What a cute turtle. Yes, please share more of your creations. Thanks Beth. It's the first animal I've attempted, maybe I'll try more.

It's designed and executed so well that, if I saw it, I'd want to turn it over to know who the artist is. Thank you opalpyrexia I am trying to figure all of this out. Normally I stamp everything I make with a makers mark, but the stamp I had made is a bit too close to a financial company's logo, so I'm changing it but just haven't gotten to it yet. I wanted to stamp this guy but I didn't want the stamp to mar the fin or head, so I didn't even mark it. It never occurred to me to use a bur to sign it 😳

There's another option (that I have yet to use) that a jeweler I know uses. He often applies his stamp when done with metal fabrication. He'll stamp a small piece of thin-gauge sheet, cut/clean the the edges, and solder it onto the back of the work with easy solder that he's thinned. I like the look and I intend to start using that method where I either can't stamp or, like your turtle, the stamping would interfere with the front surface.

That is a really good idea! I may try that too, especially in a case like this one.

This may be the best turtle piece of jewelry I've seen. He's so cool!
opalpyrexia that idea is so awesome! I am going to steal it, too.
