These were labeled as Varacoise, but I think they are Varascite. Some rough, some slightly tumbled and some slabettes (one cab wonders) Thoughts? If this is Varascite is the value really what people are trying to sell it for? What is so special about this rock to warrant such high prices? If not Varascite then any idea what it is? Thanks.

Yup Variscite (with an I) As with ANY other rock, price depends on quality. Yes, there is very expensive variscite (on eBay for example) but there is also some which is pretty inexpensive. I'd guess your little pile may get you a case of your favorite beer. Maybe a little more than that if you drink cheap beer!

Location location location, What mine is from? Like anything else a name is just a name and varicoise, variscite, turquoise is sometimes used interchangeably by nefarious sellers. I like the blues and blue greens, as long I sell the jewelry with the disclaimer I am not sure of the source I think its ok. A few years ago I paid 1000 dollars for a handful of lime green Fausite.

There was no location on the bag.
My favorite beer is brewed by my employer and is $38.00/case. So, I will use the slabettes to make some cabs and maybe further tumble some of the ones partially tumbled. Use them for pendants. Slice the two larger rough ones. Should get 5-6 cabs from them if all goes well.
Thanks for the info guys.
