Found in a bag labeled Apache Mine. Cast Iron. I could see where this would be helpful removing smaller rocks. If not a tool, what is it? Scrap metal? The side ridges are interesting. Thanks

Looks like the second choice is correct , a piece of torch cut scrap metal .

I can use this myself for getting rocks out of hardened ground for sure.

Cheap is good , heavy duty cheap is even better . Especially when beating on them to get a prize rock out of frozen ground .

Looks like something leftover when patching a piece of heavy equipment. You sometimes see this sort of thing on Gold Rush or Yukon Gold when they fix a wash plant. Except maybe they don't toss the leftover iron into the tailings on those shows, but I can tell you from lots of time in mines that junk like this are everywhere. Awful thing to hit with your tires.

I think it is a cool piece of history. Who knows how old it is. Way back when, someone picked it up and felt it was worth saving. Knowing the exact mine it came from is a plus to me.

Did your bag also have vanadium ore in it?

Did your bag also have vanadium ore in it? Not unless it was included in other rocks. There were a couple pieces of what appears to be Chlorargyrite with some crystals and other materials.
