I am hoping someone can ID these. First one says: Pirtave Wood. Brown (?) Ranch. It was either cut or broke and glued back together. Slab is about 4" long. Next one. Very cool patterns. Almost looks like a root ball. Next one. I love the colors and patters on the cut end. There are crystal pockets on the bark sides. Last one. Is this Back Forest? The shape reminds me of Lake Superior, lol. Thanks for looking. I may have "accidentally" purchased a box full of dusty/dirty pet wood slabs for $4.00. There are about 20 slabs in the box ranging from about 4" to 6" long. Need to go through all of them, but the first 4 I cleaned off are definitely wood. Will post them after I have time to clean all.

OK, I had to clean some of the others off. Here are a few that either are or might be pet wood. Still have 15 more to clean. Size reference is the 5 x 7 paper they are on.

You sure that first one doesn't say Picture wood? (not that I would know what that is either!) Almost looks more like Binghamite than wood.

Really love that black one So do I. NDK reminded me that woodman was bleaching this type of material, but I like the contrast, as did Nate. It will stay a specimen piece for now, as it is my first and only piece of Black Forest wood.

My first thought when seeing it was Binghamite , then saw picture wood written on the back . Not knowing much about pet wood I left it that .

First looks like some wood I've seen slabbed from around Ashwood, Oregon. However, there is a Brown's Ranch in Kittitas County, Washington (near the Columbia River) where "Picture Wood" has been dug.
