There was just a bad multi car crash a couple miles from me. Daughter texted to make sure I was OK. Apparently one of the cars is the same Make/Model as mine. Said she would have been a nervous wreck if I had not responded immediately.
Am hoping all involved are safe and that none of my neighbors were involved.

I hate that also.... My wife drives to and from work on a very dangerous road here and the sirens are going constantly.. Make a person wonder once in awhile..

I was at work one day when I was doing paint and body repair. A co worker was coming back from lunch and said he saw that my ex husband was involved in a wreck - WITH MY KIDS IN THE CAR! Well, understandably, I was a nervous wreck. This was before cellphones. I waited and waited for word and made phone calls to the hospital etc. Finally, hours later he strolls in with the kids (who were fine) and wants me to fix the vintage VW van he hit!! The guy was irate. He had just finished restoring it. So, yeah, I did the work or my ex was screwed with no insurance. We were separated at the time, but he had been driving my 65 Rambler that I was restoring. Loved that car! I never did finish it, though. My ex pretty well screwed it up.

Glad you weren't affected, but there is a family out there whose life was turned upside down. My story is about a fishing trip on the long weekend in July. We took off after work for the 14 hour drive north. My buddy's brother had left earlier. About half way into the trip, there was a big blood stain on the highway, which indicates somebody hit a moose. If you drive a car, they can go right overtop, but in a trunk they normally crash thru the windshield. A typical night hazzard up there. We asked at the next gas station and were told it was a jeep pulling a trailer and both occupants were dead. I asked my buddy if he wanted to stay or turn around. He said "if Steve is dead, I will deal with it next week". As it turns out, it was another jeep and Steve was fine. However, he had run over a small bear on the way up in the same area. So maybe that was part of the confusion. Anyway, while we were relieved, we also realized that somebody else, just like us, had a "bad night". Accidents happen so fast.
