Long post.
Winter came early to Central WI.
I was unable to find anyone to help remove everything from my utility room so I could set up more lapidary equipment there.
Plans are to remove everything in Spring. This includes the washing machine, dryer and utility sink. Then apply underlayment on concrete floor. Install some industrial linoleum floor tiles I have. They are pretty cool looking and thick. Remind me of natural rocks in various colors. Apply some type of self-contained insulation sheets to walls (any suggestions?). Replace the 1930’s era window with a new one.
Install a small exhaust fan.
Remove current shelves that I cannot reach. They are above the dryer.
Want to rearrange the placement of washer and dryer so they are next to each other. There is currently a 4’ dead space. The corners of them touch, leaving the dead space between.
So, after all of that is done it will be time to bring in the equipment and other things.
I have a 4’ 1940’s era metal table. Plan on covering that with tool box drawer liner.
Purchasing or building a work bench of sorts with drawers, shelves and a vice. It will also have a peg board back.
Bringing in my Work Mate.
Install a lit magnifier and other lighting.
Replace two ungrounded outlets with GFI ones.
After that is done then comes the fun part.
Determine best locations for the equipment/supplies I have. This includes a restored Lortone combo unit. Lot O vibe. A flat lap. Water cooled tile saw. Two rotary tumblers.
Am thinking that the three tumblers can go on the metal table. Combo unit on Work Mate, as I want to stand while using. Flat lap attached to a standing height industrial metal cart I have. The cart wheels can be locked. Tile saw on work bench.
Supplies will go in the tool bench drawers.
There is easy water access and clean out for everything.
The room is heated.
Next will be the even funner part. Being able to use all of the equipment.
Any thoughts on plans would be appreciated.
