RocksInNJ asked me in a PM about the Loudness Comparison Of The Loudness of the lot"O" compared the the UV-10 and UV-18. I thought that the best way was to make a video and let everyone decide for themselves. Let me know what you think after watching the Video.

Wow this is more than I was expecting. Especially at 3:15am lol. Glad I’m not the only one who enjoys staying up all night. This was awesome and answered everything that I was looking for. Many thanks my friend. If we ever meet, I think I owe ya a coffee and a few donuts for that trek out into the cold at 3:15am.
The Lot-O definitely sounds quieter, but I don’t know about that 2 inch opening. Plus I have 3 cats, so mounting it and having it on the porch floor is out of the question. But that UV-10, I assume 10 pound barrel isn’t much louder and is capable of handling bigger rocks and I can keep it up on the work bench with the QT-66 and not have to worry about the cats.
Only problem now is that the QT-66 won’t be able to keep up with the UV-10, but that may not be to bad of a thing for the electric bill and wear on the machine itself.
Thanks again for the video. It was a huge help.

One of the advantages of a vib tumbler is that even though they may be nosier than a rotary, and the big one noisier than the smaller vib, they are multiple times quicker in completing the tumbling stage for a lot of rocks so over a period of time wouldn't they generate less total noise per stage?
I cover my UV-18 with a piece of heavy plastic before screwing the lid on, mainly to help seal it. It seems to muffle some of the noise of this large tumbler some. I tumble in my shed most of the time so the noise really doesn't bother me.
That is a great video!

Would probably help keep the edges around the barrel cleaner as well.

One thing you want to keep in mind when you compare the noise level on these Vibe Tumblers. There is no Vibration through the tumbler and what it sits on. The UV's sitting on a bench doesn't budge a 1/16th of an inch it stays put. The Lot"O" however will walk right off the bench concrete block and all. The Other thing to consider is the UV-10 is 2 1/2 times the capacity as the Lot"O" and the UV=18 is 4 1/2 times the Capacity of the Lot"O" anything that is that much larger will make more noise and being fair in comparison that needs to be taken in consideration. Well Guess What? I just had a Brain Fart and to make this contest more accurate I plan on doing this! Give me a Bit to Get another Video Made It will most likely will take me using MJ's Cellphone too, either as a Video Cam or Sound Meter

Lol, I think I’ve awakened the beast!
I think I’m pretty much set on the UV-10 at this point. Now just to figure out where I’m going to get the money for all this crap that I want, but at least my research is done. I still need that 10” Diamondback tile saw and a 25lb bag of 46/70 and a 25lb bag of 60/90 grit.
