I'm still experimenting with my new QT-66. For the first time I am using grit courser than the 60/90 that I was used too.
The first two loads in the QT-66 had some pros and cons. I currently have banded amethyst in there; they're free of any cavities, holes, dents or divits but they are not as smooth as I usually find after 60/90. Now to be fair they got to this point in half the time so I can send them back in for another week of 36 no problem or I was thinking putting them in smaller barrels with 60/90
Any thoughts on this?

How well did your 36 grit break down? I've had problems with anything coarser than 46/70 breaking down in my 15 lb barrels.
I would run 60/90 after 36, but I'm OCD that way. Why move to smaller barrels? Do you not have enough volume to keep them in the 6 lb barrel? Maybe add some ceramics or pea gravel to make up the volume if that is the case.
