Heh heh heh.... Oh, I mean my son brought over his rocks so I got a chance to take some pictures with my actual camera instead of my phone. Now I would please like some help deciding on which one to use to get printed on a canvas for him for a Christmas present. 1,2,3,4 or none of the above? Thanks!

I like 4 the best.

I think I like 3 the best - needs to be lightened up a little, though.

I like number 4 best, too. It was either 1 or 4, but 4 looks more cohesive and the direction of the lighting seems better to me.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'm happy with any of them honestly. I may try and play around with the color some. 1 and 4 are underwater in a casserole dish and with 2 and 3 I pulled them out of water and set them on the towel for a background as fast as I could before they dried. Like most rocks, they look better wet. I may try and set up something indoors with a light but I'm not that great at photographing stones yet. I tried a white towel for the background also but decided darker was better. If any of the really good photographers on here have any tips- you know who you are - that would be awesome!

I'm with #4. Someone recently posted something about making a jigsaw puzzle out of a photo of rocks. That would be a cool gift!

1 Is first choice. 4 would be second choice.

I'm so glad you said that. Didn't want to post and be a sh*t and say none of them floated my boat much. I think you might be better served taking a picture of the best ones grouped together in a closeup so you can see the awesome patterns better.

And I'm glad you said that! 😁 I'm not one to get easily offended- I asked for opinions and I appreciate your honesty. I think I'll try again tomorrow and see if I can do better. I'm kind of under the gun, though!
