I'm more than sure this question has been addressed, some where within the original Quartzsite thread stated here.......just need a little clarification as to which "shows" (as indicated on the Quartzsite Official Web Calendar) are the ones those of you RTH members/vendors frequent or will be present this year.....:
The Calendar shows these....
Dec 29th thru Jan 1st, 9am to 5pm - New Years Eve Blow Out Show
Jan 3rd thru Jan 12th, 9am to 5pm - Tyson Wells Rock & Gem Show
Jan 4th, 9am to 5pm - Taco Fest Rock & Gem Show
Jan 15th to 20th, 9am to 5pm - Pow Wow Rock & Gem Show
Jan 17th, 9am to 5pm - Sell A Rama
The Calendar is pretty convoluted with a mix-match of crafts, gems, mineral, entertainment, parade, food festival events.........are the vendor show cases all under the same roof or are they also situated outdoors in free-space rows (aisles)......and what days are those larger outdoor events actually scheduled (weather permitting).........?
Thanks for any and all info.......we've been there a few times, but never during January show periods.........!

Laugh Out Load.........I guess those that can/could respond are at Quartzsite......!
No worries......looks like if you don't want to be bothered by crowds, mid-week in the morning btw. the 6th-10th and 13th-17th and maybe the week of the 20th, there will still be a good selection of rock and mineral vendors........I'm only 2hrs away (one way)......so a couple of trips may be in order........If I don't run out of money.......lol

In my limited experience in going there (once), it seems the focus is Pow Wow and the Desert Gardens Show.Folks will hit Pow Wow, Tony's BBQ, and Desert Gardens over a few days or so. The link above indicates that Desert Gardens goes into February, but I can't imagine that the amount of vendors that late is as good as it is into the middle of January. Some of the vendors there will be packing up to head on over to Tucson - at least that's what I noticed when I was there a couple of years ago. Check out this excellent thread done by Bluesky78987 a couple of years ago. It's a great source of info about shows and what to expect. pizzano

I googled, but couldn't find anything about this Taco Fest you listed. Rocks & Tacos always get my attention!
BTW, the Pow Wow is Wed - Sun, so 15th - 19th, not 20th unless they've extended it until Monday. Lynn

Desert Gardens runs from 1/1 until the end of Pow Wow, pretty much. There are a few sellers left after that, but most pack up and start heading towards home or Tucson after Pow Wow.
That said, Desert Gardens doesn't get fully set up until like 1/3 or 1/4. I often go on 1/1 (but not this year) in order to get some of the "good stuff" that gets bought up. There's lots left to get all month though.
Once Pow Wow starts (Wed 1/15 this year), DG kind of dries up a bit - a lot of sellers move over to Pow Wow, or send a bunch of their stock over there and leave an assistant at DG to mind the store.
Overall, if it's your first time, just go during Pow Wow, and plan to hit (1) Pow Wow - need 2 days if you're a careful shopper, (2) Desert Gardens, and (3) a day for Tyson Wells and the miscellaneous little shows that pop up around town, as well as the couple of brick and mortar stores.
I'm only going during Pow Wow this year - much higher quality slabs there, and higher quality items like turquoise and variscite.

We are planning on doing the same thing when we hooked up with you last time - arrive Wed and probably hit some of DG, PW on Thursday, DG again on Friday. Leave Saturday.

Taco Fest in April..........yep, having spent more than an hour trying to find a Quartzsite calendar that was in REAL-TIME, neglected to pay attention to the month..........convoluted is putting it lightly........you've got Tyson Wells time line, Desert Gardens time line and the Pow Wow time line, each bleeding into each other, with a mixed bag of arts and crafts sprinkled in..........simply Que-ing Quartzsite is a waste of time IMHO.........you'd think after all of the years these events have been around, some-one (host oversight) would put together a January Event Calendar that ties every thing in a chronological/common sense order.........?
Thanks Jean.....!

Thanks Again Jean........that Chamber of Commerce link is what I was hoping to latch onto.........originally thought of the Chamber of Commerce, having been a member of one years ago, made sense that the show's would be a big ticket item for them......guess my web searching needs to be more refined....lol Will be going mid-week next week and mid-week on Pow Wow........just me, kids in school and better half works those days.........thanks..!
