I can generally evaluate slabs or faced material, unfaced rough not very well. This is a large piece of OJ on auction on ebay. Green is not my favorite color. I assume the bumps will slice as orbs but they seem large as patterns for cabs. I have never bought OJ rough, but my saw is working well and is hungry so I am looking for opinions. oj

Hard to tell when it's not windowed, but since it's OJ, if it doesn't get too spendy I would take a chance.

I'm not sure that is OJ, I think that is sea jasper, from the same area and sometimes sold as OJ. However, my experience with the material is that it lacks most of the colors of OJ and also under cuts. Its all together a far worse material.

I looked at the pictures and didn't see much potential. I was considering his auction for Butterfly and his marketing approach is low price and high shipping, so when I buy I'm going to combine. I just got a piece of BF that is nicer and quality is always better than quantity.

Looks like it might be Kabamby OJ? From my limited experience, when you get to those bumps they will be orbs but the whole piece will be unstable. All the slabs I've cut from stuff like that want to fracture on lines surrounding those bumps/orbs. Just my $.02
