I've had my oxygen concentrator for over a year. I went from Acetylene/Air to a Smith little torch. I have purchased several now for friends. I've found most of them on local Facebook sales groups or a local thrift store. I've paid between %0 - $60 each. Lots of people just want to get rid of them. It costs about $8 for the fittings to connect it to your Oxy hose on the torch. Lynn Good to know! Are you happy with the switch? The Smith Little Oxy/Acetylene torch lets me get a smaller, hotter flame for more precise work. I'm not doing much precise work, just basic soldering bezel and rope to back, and bail to back. So I'm not seeing all of the benefits over Acetylene/Air. Someday I'll be better friends with my torches & have more to say about them. As far as the concentrator doing it's job, no problems. Lynn

Well watched the video and went to Paige Tools and ordered up a set of tips and adapter for my Little Torch. Will let you know what I think. Might look for a concentrator for a back up or vice versa. I went to Paige tools right after, too. Looks like a must get. Interested to hear what you say.

I had trouble getting a focused flame with my gas/air torch.

Great thread topic as usual on RTH. But lots of good info comes from the offshoots just like this. Fun stuff.

I have a propane/oxygen Smiths torch with Paige tips, which I recommend, but I use a plumbers propane torch with an extension hose most often for the very basic kind of stuff I generally do. I have a bottle of MAPP gas handy for if I ever need more heat for something big, but I haven't used it yet, at least not with jewelry. Warning to those buying a Smiths little torch, there are chinese counterfeits out there that even come in a genuine looking box but are inferior. If the price seems unbelievable, don't believe it.

Another sidetrack detail. The MAP-Pro gas they sell now is not the same as the old MAPP gas. New stuff burns cooler, not that much hotter than propane.
