I dumped all my tumblers liquids in my garden for years and years with no ill effect.I always considered the added minerals beneficial.

A long time ago in my professional office, my employee got the idea of having a bowl of wrapped hard candy in a classy crystal bowl with a sign that said "Take One!". This was placed not only for clients, but for visitors, UPS delivery guys, anyone really that came into the office. It became VERY POPULAR. About 1.5 years later, my employee confessed to needing to discontinue it. He had gained about 12lbs because he could not resist, but he told me of all the smiles this bowl produced. Apparently, one delivery guy admitted to breaking up deliveries into several trips into the office just to not be so obvious how often he was getting a piece of candy. I have wondered about recreating this bowl and sign except with pretty tumbled rocks. Of course, that means having to part with my babies. The rock shop I used to sell items at had a bowl of tumbled rocks on the counter for her customers to pick out a free rock. Was popular. But I'm with you on parting with your rocks.

Had an opportunity to meet another RTH member today as I took a trip up to visit Snuffy. As with the previous 3 folks he was as expected a really neat person, a real Texas country gentleman. To top the visit off he sent me home with a large bag of Florida Broadleaf Mustard Greens!! They got cooked up for supper, yummy!!! Not to worry if I haven't met you yet as I am slowly making my way down the list!!! Henry Great to meet you Henry.Enjoyed the visit.Come again anytime.

Ran across this project I made a few years ago. Finally going to display it.Drilled a hole in bottom of the glass block and inserted a string of clear Christmas lights into it and glued on Brazillian agates on it.Was going to make a lot of these, but only made one. snuffy

Just recently had the opportunity to meet jamesp at his place in Georgia. My wife and I were on our way to North Carolina and and stopped in for an all too short visit and it was a real pleasure for both of us. He is just as genuine and personable as he appears with his various posts and activities. He is also most generous as I have a few goodies to work with when I get back home. Just have to figure our which tumbler barrel I am going to abuse with the super SiC grit he gave me, it's is serious looking stuff. My rocks be warned that there's a new sheriff in town!!! That's the 3rd person from this forum I have personally met and they have all been really, really neat folks. Hoping to meet more as time goes by. Hopefully another will be added to that list in a few weeks. To me it speaks volumes for the overall quality of the folks out here, nuff said!!! Henry Ready when you are!!! snuffy

Most of the times this happened to me,the shafts had gotten dirty and slick.Took a piece of sandpaper and with the rotary barrels off and machine running, wrapped the paper arond shaft, cleaned it off and roughened it up . My problem most of the time if not the belts.

Snuffy, that's a really great picture of the size differential on the marbles that have run through the tumbler...and those that haven't! Glad to see it looks like you got your picture posting issue figured out! (I had no clue how to help you on that!) It had been several years since I posted pics.Had to figure it out.

How did the obsidian turn out? Turned out like most obsidian tumbles do I guess. Some great, some fine, some not so fine. Smaller pieces good, larger ones frosted edges. snuffy

I used marbles when I tumbled obsidian. Ran across this old pic Created some little bitty ones. They were all the same size as the ones bottom left.
