I knew one person who had silicosis, he had worked in the Bentonite clay mines in SD.

Yep my suggestion also with the silver. If that doesn't look right shape a small stone, grind the chipped out put in a patch with silver around it.

Couldn’t you/I just get s lovely pair of shears and attach the table, and then the little strip that keeps the bezel in place? Is there steel on steel glue? Might just mess around with the idea myself

I was at Rio and the Swanstom rep was there. Rio was going to ask them if this is something they could improve on. They had sent back their shears and ring guage for QC issues.

Absolutely amazing how you can capture the best in a stone. I can hear those small orbs hiding in your garage calling out Brian...Brian.

Really nice!!! Word of caution though. I was at a show a few years ago and Fish and Wildlife was busting folks right and left for jewelry incorporating animal parts like claws, talons feathers etc. I guess they were demanding documentation for the hunting trophy type stuff and just flat out busting sellers for jewelry with talons or bird of prey parts as that stuff is strictly a no no. All those laws usually use the sentence " or parts there of" when regulating wild animal parts. I'm sure if differs from state to state for state regulated critters of course ( birds of prey are federal). For example, here in Texas, you can pick up "shed antlers" but woe befall you if you are caught salvaging antlers and such from roadkill.....Mel I use porcupine claws in place of talons, most people cannot tell the difference. Have been questioned by the fish and wild life about some of the pieces I have made. In MN you can own and sell claw as long as they are not attached to the paws. A rug is ok just not the paws theirselves.

We seen a shrine of travertine on the road next to the power line. round well on river rock with a triangle. a 100 ft heart made with travertine also. Is the road down near there?

cool idea, but the big question is did you find anything you have been looking for in the process?

One of my favorites there. Hadn't heard of it either before discovering Binghamite (online) a few years ago. The range of colors and the patterns in Silkstone are as pretty as anything out there. Mostly golds to chocolate browns, but there are some other really rare colors, right? I'm a sucker for chatoyant stones anyway, but your ring is really nice. Took a Silkstone pendant stone (in progress) to a rock club meeting 7-8 years ago so some people could see it. A newer member liked it so much she made me sell it to her then and there. Wouldn't even let me finish it. Said it spoke to her just the way it was. The stone spoke to her, and she was speaking my language, so it went home with her that day. Yes it can come in odd colors, being the Iron range there can be reds and purples but mostly the tans and browns. Can be stunning if mixed in with the bingamite. Sounds like the lady got what she wanted, wonder if she did anything with it or just carrying it around for energy?

I am a big fan of high dome cabs. Makes the stone a centerpiece when you set them, and as always you step up to the plate. These are awesome.
