Nice! I thought the agates looked familiar I also have a stone that looks like your first one, found by lake George Colorado (pic includes others I've found in the area maybe your area has some as well?) Ryan flic.kr/p/GmZtVVI have a soft spot for agates. Those you found are gorgeous. I need to get back down there to see if I can find some more of it. It was such a little piece, it was hard to get a clue on what it is. It will be interesting to see how it turns out. The Botswana's and Green tree agates I get from the Rock Shed. Really nice people there! The others I picked up down by the San Joaquin River in an old gravel pit. Nice! It looks like a mix of jasper and iron. I can't tell if the white lines are quartz/agate or what I can't come to a conclusion exactly sorry I'm not much help Ryan I really don't think the white lines are quartz but I could be wrong Wow thank you for takin new pics that really helps me see the white n grey stuff/lines, but I'm still not totally sure, it's leaning towards it being like a sand stone that was originally white n grey then water deposited the minerals (colors) n then that cracked n the white lines formed re solidifying the stone. I'm most likely wrong I doubt I got it all figured out that stone has been through some gnarlyness Ryan

That red and purple stone is gorgeous! Is that wonderstone above it? It's really cool as well Ryan I'm not sure what he called it. I should of written down the name. The picture doesn't do it justice. No worries lots of cool stuff you got, the fifth one down looks the same exept it has purple agate on top? Ryan

Nice stones. You don't hear about agate from most of Colorado very often, though it is around. Kind of gets overshadowed by other material though the agate is often nicer in my book. Well put fish most hounders around lake George are interested in amazonite/smokey quartz, which is a good area for quality specimens so I can't blame them flic.kr/s/aHskZVeQtd

Hello all on this episode of Joes show Randall Carlson explains Greenland ice cores, and the floods at the end of the ice age created by a comet or asteroid impact. This really helped me understand the local geology and find that glacier deposits can produce really good stuff with variety. (Please excuse the bad language) Ryan

Very nice. Almost have a Prairie Agate look to them. Were they in a glacial deposit?.....Mel Yup in a glacial deposit with lots of variety. Ryan
