I have a HF barrel on a Lortone 33b right now. Size is the same, nut doesn't make any kind of difference.

I was thinking about that too. Saw won't be mailed until Monday so I'll probably have to wait until it's delivered to check on that. You all now how it is when you start something new, you can't wait to play with a new toy. Lol.

That's the path I was looking at. I figured just a good general purpose blade would do what I needed but I didn't know if I need something special. Thank you for your reply.

I just purchased a used Texas Rocks gem trim 4" saw. Previous owner said blade doesn't have much life left. I just plan to use it to trim down rocks to tumble if they need it. What is a decent blade for this task. I've seen continuous, segmented, turbo, cyclone mesh. What's a dependable brand name?

Thanks wigglinrocks. I've always liked looking at rocks so I believe I've had the stone bug for awhile. I'm just now doing something about it finally.

Thanks chuck. You are right about the knowledge here. All the experienced people here have already been through the trial and error phase and figured out what works the best so I believe in learning from that. I'm researching rock identification and mohs hardness scale right now, I admit I don't have a clue what I'm tumbling. They just caught my eye.

Thank ya'll. I'm in South Texas by the way, forgot to add that part. I'm still reading the old post here and so far that has answered all my questions. I will probably have some questions when I get to make a trip to Central Texas. I ended up with some kind of old green stone working station a few years back when my uncle passed. I'm feeling the urge to go get it now and see what all its about. Guess I've been bit by the stone bugđź‘Ť.

Just wanted to say hi and I've been learning a lot from this forum. I started tumbling about a week and a half ago with a harbor freight single barrel. I've already upgraded to a Lortone 33b double barrel with some extra barrels to boot. Doing good with my patience so far. Just looked at my first batch again in course grind and put them back in for some more. Have a second barrel going with a new batch. I figured 2 barrels for course grit always going on the Lortone 33b and then use the HF tumbler for the other stages for now.
