No worries Tommy ! About an hour after I dropped the package in the mail I realized that it could be taken as two contest entries when I was thinking of two cabs for the auction. I am completely satisfied with Eva's choice! Awesome creativity everyone! Congratulations to jasoninsd and liveoak. Thank you Tommy for making this happen! So much fun to have the same material and the same photography. I am glad that we can honor Ed in this way.

Sorry, I do not know where this agate is from. I obtained it from an estate. Perhaps someone more knowledgeable recognizes it?

Arrived at home on Friday after being away for months. I think I remember how these machines work? Thanks for the opportunity to work this stuff! Cab left the Post Office today, estimated arrival on Friday.

Congratulations! You are going to have so much fun! My machine sits on top of a toolbox. Wheels for a little mobility and drawers for storage. Picture was taken before we added a shower curtain to keep the toolbox cleaner. Water nozzles are easy to adjust. While the machine is OFF, turn on the water. You will be able to see the water running on the wheel. Reach up to the little nozzle and twist to where you want the water to go. Volume of water can be controlled by the knob on the top. I rarely remove the lap plate. The polishing surface changes fairly frequently because it it so easy to change. I store the not in use polishing pads on a wire rack that was meant to hold papers vertically. This helps keep them free of contaminates. While I am using it I let the machine run, no need to wear out the switches. If I am going to step away for more than 5 minutes, then I turn the machine off. We had to replace one of the original switches after about four years. Cab King says they have improved their switches...six years and counting on the replacement. Very nice first cab! Looking forward to seeing more!

Happy to share fernwood. We got the material from an estate and didn't pay much attention to a little orange piece of glass. It is much more interesting once you know its source. As Rockoonz observed the "ridges" are reflections from the background. Pure luck on the pictures as I am at the mercy of the auto-magic settings on the camera and the big light in the sky. Thank you Rockoonz.

This is a piece of slag glass from the San Manuel (Arizona) Copper Smelter. Cab is 22 x 40. the slab the cab side view Magma Copper started their mining operation here in the late 1940's. The first home in the townsite was completed in 1954. The Smelter was commissioned in 1956. Mining ceased in 1999. By 2003 the smelter was torn down except for the stacks which were demolished in 2007.

Based on the 2023 Tucson Gem and Mineral shows prices on some rough have significantly increased. We saw some reasonable prices, usually when the actual miner was offering the rough. Many prices were a bit higher and some prices were sky high. Particularly high were those offered by the Australian and South American sellers at the Kino Center.

Thank you victor1941, I was blissfully unaware of the iron. Now I know to look for ultra clear glass for any future ventures with glass! Thank you betojdesigns, all kind words are appreciated. Rockoonz, yet another likely possibility.

Thanks Bill! I'm okay with using glass, I'm just not quite satisfied with how it turned out. Designing that double sided setting is my DH's challenge. victor1941 what is ultra clear glass?
