Same old, same old - Southern Wisconsin glacier wash... This rock is very hard ~7 and very purple. Guessing it's Jasper based on the location, shape, feel, and hardness. Is there a name for this type of Jasper or whatever it may be? Thanks for looking Ken...

I don't know the name but it sure is nice looking. Could make a nice pendant.

I think Pat has it. It looks like a coarse (right half) either pebble quartzite or copnglomerate. possibly metamorphic.

I believe most of the material in this location is Metamorphic. Lots of conglomerate, which seems to add some nice visual complexities. Pat I found a ~7-8 lb White, purple, red pudding stone last weekend. It's got a lot going on and I was super excited to find it. I will get a pic up in the next couple days.
