Here's my attempt at the table! I think that looks great!! I like the tablecloth...it adds a nice touch! Also the way you raised the items on the back of the table was very smart!!

Show went well for my first try. Mostly sold tumbled rocks which surprised me. Very few cabochons and very few magnets. No agate whisperer branded coffee mugs but I gave a few away. I think this show was mostly geared towards rough agates. A great show to kick the tires at. Was a good day and met a lot of nice folks, and a few contacts for pairing up with for some wire wrapping later on.

I missed seeing that pic earlier! Well...I wished the sales would have gone better for you. I was stoked about the people I met at the show I did this summer...I'm glad it was a similar experience for you! Great job on making some contacts...those definitely are nice to have in your back pocket!

Well - you sold more than we did at our first show. First two, actually. Good for you!
jasoninsd hit on a good point about having some things raised up higher on the table. That seems to make a more interesting setup as potential buyers walk up toward your space. If you get to doing busier shows, though, you have to be careful not to "hide" things from yourself. Being able to keep an eye on everything is important.
Glad to hear you enjoyed doing it.

Yeah that's a good point. I think that why this show was a good starting point. I didn't need to necessarily focus on trying to manage crowds as well as the other basics of running a table. On thing that got a lot of attention was the set up of how cabochons are made. Saw it on the forum a few months ago but can't remember exactly where. I made one last week to show the process.

Yeah, it's really good to give people something to talk about - so they don't just keep walking while they're looking.
We've learned to have a "draw" of some kind that people will stop and linger at. Makes others wonder what it is they're looking at. You had a good one there with that set of cabs on the dop sticks. I vaguely recall seeing the post you mentioned. Good that you remembered it.
