susand24224 Susan, I know that you want constructive criticism. I have come back to this several times to oooogle and noticed that on the back, where the wires end, you have bindings right up against the cut ends. I worry about that. It would be safer to bend those ends inwards and make curled ends on the back. It's such a great design, I hate to nit pick, but I know you want it. It doesn't take away from what a great design it is.
Is that Cherry Creek?

You are correct, Tela, constructive criticism is always welcome and I have some criticisms about it as well. But I'm not sure what you are talking about (?) None of the frame wires end, except the 14 gauge and it ends at the bottom (the two 16 gauge wires on the front and back are soldered). Perhaps you are talking the 26 gauge wires? Please help me out here. . .
The stone is chapenite, per Rockbrain who added it. Had this cab not been so precise, I would have found it next to impossible to do this wrap with the gauges I used. Thank you, Rockbrain.

Thank you, Rockbrain. Having read that, I went and looked real hard again. Maybe it's just the picture. It could be tool marks I am seeing. If there are no cut ends on the back, then I'm wrong and you're a genius. Ignore me and carry on.

My original thought was to completely flatten the 14 gauge (outer wire), but it was distorting the shape too much so I stopped. Your eyes probably focused on the area where I whacked a little harder. There also *are* some wire problems with the 26 gauge--if I were to do this again, I would do the "decorative" coiling before securing the binding wires. I did the binding wires first and had the frame wires so tight that when I tried to make the coiling flush with the binding it distorted the frame wires, so I had to leave a gap.

You've done a really sweet job with this. Thanks so much for sharing.

Okay rockbrain...the box is ready to head your way! When you get a chance, please shoot me a message with your address. I finished up the wrap last night and was on the fence about doing a patina on it. I really think it could go either way. So...truly not trying to be lazy about it, but I'm leaving it as is. I know your patina work is outstanding, so if you think it would be better with a patina, give it a bath and we'll call it a collaboration piece! LOL Its a totally new design than anything I've done...so you're the guinea pig recipient! LOL - I can't take credit for the design, it was a tutorial from OxanaCrafts on YouTube...but it is one I will be using...and hopefully tweaking here and there for future wraps. It wasn't the cab I had originally picked...but I liked this one better. There are a TON of cabs in the box this time. I didn't take any...but I'm adding two Crazy Lace cabs and my big time loser cab from last months cab contest! LOL

These are very nice cabs. For that specific one I will call it "overachiever" rather than "loser". Look forward to your wire wrapping results.

I actually really like that Owyhee cab...but I do have a bunch of them...so I figured I'd pass it on in case someone wants it. I almost made a mistake and posted a picture of the wrap going to rockbrain...thankfully I remembered in time so as not to ruin the surprise! LOL

CAN"T WAIT TO SEE YOUR WRAP!!!! Yes- all caps. I'm excited. Thanks Tela! I'm really stoked about the wrap to be honest! LOL - It's a style I've seen...but hadn't tried. I really do want to try and alter it for some shapes other than just the one I did it with this time. It might take a time or two to tweak it differently...but I really want to try and figure it out.

Loser cab? Blasphemy! That cab was beautiful, as are your crazy lace cabs. I likely would have wrapped it but I was wrapping one of your other cabs, henceforth known as "winner cabs." I, too am excited to see your new creation and style--lucky Rockbrain!

LOL - I'm open to ANY critiques or criticisms. I'm just going add a me too! to the chorus. Thanks Robin.

Beautiful cabs added jasoninsd I'm eagerly anticipating receiving these items in the mail. (I know who I'm dealing with so I changed the last sentence that originally said, "I'm excited to get your package!") Anxious to see the new style. That's funny because Oxana is where I've gone for about 90% of what I've done. I like her instructional stuff but sometimes I have to turn the volume off. She's an up talker, the accent on the last word of the sentence.

LOL It's a new style for me...but I know you'll recognize it. Funny about the volume...I watch them with the volume shut off too...mainly because my wife is watching something stupid on TV and I'm just trying to stare at something else! LOL

The package is in the mailbox...headed across the country with it's destination being "somewhere" in sunny California!
I did message Gary that I actually feel badly that I didn't do one of my "normal" style wraps...and wasn't paying attention that I used a style in which he has already done a wrap. I think it's neat to see someone else's different style up close...rather than a duplicate of something that person's already done. Had I done a "new" style which he hadn't already done, that would have been different. Anyway...I just feel like a dufus for doing the wrap I did. Sorry Gary...

Personally I can't wait to see the photos of your new style wrap, jasoninsd - And I bet, even if 2 people followed the exact tutorial, the end result would be different.
At least I think so, I never seem to follow things exactly, even unconsciously you make a change, just cause it's the way you do it.
After seeing your other new style arrowhead wrap (very nice BTW) you have me curious.

Thanks Patty! For me at least...when I do a tutorial for the first time, I actually try to follow as exact as possible. Once I'm sure I understand the "reasons" for doing certain things in the design, then I try and alter it to some degree. I'm a "paint inside the lines" kinda guy when it comes to learning something new...or at least I TRY to do that! LOL Thank you about the arrowhead wrap...again it was an Oxana tutorial...and a bit of a "one off" for me...so not likely something I'd do again anytime soon.

Well I didn't think you were going over to the tumbled wrap style !!, but the one off arrowhead was nice, the weaving on the back made it so. I bet your Mom will like it. Patty
