Hi, great forum!
Very happy to have found it😍 I love to search for beautiful rocks and make all sorts or art with them so this is right up my alley. My whole yard is Literally a huge rock garden😊 I have rocks and crystals all over my house too, I swear most days I have more rocks in my shower than soap, and I have TONS of soap😂
I was wondering if there any way to view photos posted here in one place like a gallery? I love checking out pictures of other people's art to get inspiration and also to see what is possible with different types of stones.
I love the cab. contest, the one that looks like a beach is sooo gorgeous!!! I have a ton of agates that I want to finnish like those, unfortunately I don't have a saw capable of cutting them yet...but If there's anyone in the las Vegas area who does please let me know. Ill add photos tomorrow ...some have really spectacular images! My backyard 200,000,000 years ago was on the edge of an under sea volcano, and it is like a gold mine for agatized coral and volcanic glass in rainbows of colors and tons of amazing pseudo morphs. So I had been digging for my pool (myself by hand)... because who doesn't love a good treasure hunt? ...soooo... it took me 6 months, but it was well worth it... I found so much amazing stuff!!! Now I have piles literally everywhere!!! Looking for ideas and perhaps help with making a bunch of cool stuff😉

Welcome to RTH fellow rthling.
No, there is no gallery for photos. But, if there were, you'd miss the cool stories that go along with the pictures.
Dug your own pool- just to get the rocks? You go Girl! You have definitely been bitten by the bug.

Welcome Mira. Yes, I am from Las Vegas, born and raised. I collect most of what I have in my collection and trade a lot on a swap board. Also a member of the Southern Nevada Gem and Mineral Society for about 7 or so years. This is my little girl Jax who loves to go on adventures with me to the desert and mines. These are from our trip a couple days ago looking for quartz crystals.

Hey Mira! Welcome to the forum from South Dakota! What a great introduction!! Out here, we have all kinds of rocks as well. If you want to find different rocks than the ones you're finding now, feel free to buzz by and I'll let you dig a pool in my backyard...no charge! LOL (Just kidding! Digging your own pool by hand...just to find rocks...that's hardcore! )

Welcome mira from Northern Arizona! Seems you have already jumped down the rock rabbit hole and the pool rabbit hole. I'm almost afraid of what hole you'll jump down next! (just kidding) You'll fit in perfect here with the rest of us rock lickers.

Welcome from NW Florida. I've dug a lot of holes & ditches & haven't found one rock yet. OTOH, it sure makes digging easier Patty
