Thanks!! I'm pretty stoked about working a few pieces of this. I have an idea I can plop a stencil down anywhere on these since it's all going to change with each 100th of a millimeter taken off! LOL

Oh, man, what a wonderful score, Jason! Can’t wait to see what you cut from these. Thanks Gary!! I'm definitely going to have to do a little studying on this particular material to make sure I'm working it correctly...or more likely I'll just throw caution to the wind with the first piece and learn as I go! LOL

I think I may have to put a couple of these under the knife (saw) today and see about trying out a cab in the next couple days. I just gotta know what I'm in for with this stuff! LOL I can't count on one hand the amount of shows she's into that I have NO problem ignoring! LOL

I'd be curious if you can cut and polish it completely with the cabber,
or do you need to polish it with car polishing stuff on a felt wheel ??
Hope you'll educate the rest of us, once you figure it out .

By gosh Patty, you just made my day!! That was exactly what I needed to find out! I liked that the article talked about the different ways to work it, depending on the era the Fordite came from! In one spot, it talks about Minnesota Fordite being "lightweight". My stuff came from Romulus, Michigan...which I looked up and found out there's a GM plant there. These pieces are extremely lightweight.

Nice score! That looks like a pretty serious supply. Looking forward to this. I've been curious about this material for awhile.

That’s some cool looking material jasoninsd. It will be interesting to see if it’s prone to orange-peel. It can’t be as hard as rocks but you know it will take a nice polish.

Why'd you have to bring up "O-P"! LOL I just finished cutting five preforms...so now I need to open up five dops and give this stuff a shot!
