I found an old bucket-o-eggs today while tidying the saw shop. Gonna break out the tile saw and start splitting a few, see if there's any slabbers. I'll do it outside, most likely in shorts. 75 frigid degrees tomorrow. Must be nice... My shop is icing over.

Yep, I had some seriously insulated faux carhardt coveralls I wore in my shop on the West side of the cascades in WA during winter, get's a lot colder where you are. There was actually frost on my windshield here at 4am when I had an early work day Wednesday, but it still hit upper 60's later.

I should already have some, but I'm too cheap for coveralls.

Austin is a sunny and balmy 84 degrees F. today and the same is projected for tomorrow. A little cool weather is all I need and that is to meet the dormancy of the fruit trees.

realrockhound That thunderegg is insane, and the inclusion of the host material is brilliant I appreciate that. Thank you. I’m excited to see what others create. So much variety and things to do with thundereggs.

OK people, I know it's freezing outside and the rooftops are white in some places, but we ARE rockhounds afterall. Put on your woobies and brave the workshop elements and show us your thundereggs!
I have one rough cut and should've been done by now. But I'm not happy with it and either need to start over or change the shape. Then, life got hectic. Hoping to find some time back at the wheels soon. I wonder if we will end up with an influx of submissions after the Thanksgiving weekend...? People either on vacation, or avoiding the in-laws!? :-)

lol all talk no cabs you guys crack me up Ok here we go. In fact this slab came from you Roy :-) It's my second try for this month. The first didn't turn out like I was hoping. I couldn't resist the little cloud on this guy though. As you can see, I was indecisive on the shape selection...

agatewhisperer Really nice. I like seeing the markings on your slab. I think I’d want to do one over on the right to include that skinny little agate trail reaching into the matrix. Oh, also I think I’m needing to try a 2nd one too. Not happy with my first. The matrix has been challenging.
