Use to se them all the time scuba diving up in Monterrey Bay. They like to hang out on floats and are very curious about divers.

You got that right, Dule! Apologies, James. It's been a long day, and I forgot who was in this thread with us. Will try to pay closer attention. I've seen many videos of them floating on their backs above the tops of the kelp forests off the California coast. They'll bring a rock up to the surface with them, and use it as an anvil on their chest to crack clams, mussels and crabs open to eat them.

Right on jase They have quite a few prairedogs And I was watching thier antics So I'll spare you any picures for now Butte! This white heron took a shine to me was standing on the railing of the prairiedogs & Got really close to me the signage was applying to prariedogs Guess they can be ruffians any requests? mohs , I believe that is a Snowy Egret. They are generally much smaller than herons. I am glad that you are getting out and enjoying your zoo. San Diego has so many attractions (The World Famous™ SD Zoo, Wild Animal Safari Park, Sea World) that people who live here tend to visit on when they have relatives in town visiting. I am guilty of that, lol. But who can afford, especially now, the exorbitant fees they charge? Can't remember the last time I visited Disneyland, right up the freeway a piece. Then there are all the natural things and parks to see in town. We have a place in town called Reptile Gardens. (https://www.reptilegardens.com/) One of the cool things they do, when you pay your entry fee (last I knew) it was for the whole "season"...which for locals, it's nice that you can take visitors there and make them pay for their own entry and you just use your pass! LOL mohs - THANKS for the Rhino pic!! That was really awesome!! We were talking about Prairie Dogs...so I went out to my back fence and recorded this one singing for you! *Okay...that was a lie...but I saw this today and instantly thought of our conversation! LOL

I saw a ring-tailed cat once when we lived on the mountain. It was in the huge Alligator Juniper by the deck. It was dark out and Vince spotted it. He has way better eyeballs than I do. Only saw that one, but it was cool. I had never even heard of them before that.

I've come to the conclusion that its not right to share pictures of the private organization buy you own damn ticket and meet me at the the bench Does that mean you're not going to catch up with the tortoise .
How sad ( frown )
Patty...... Phoenix is too far to visit the zoo in person.

Lived and explored up north & now down south & even in between for some years.
But never west (visit or live).
No wonder I like your photos

That cool Patty Recall the time my childhood pal Nhoj & I went to TG& Y store in ChrisTown . That store had a small pet sections. Gold fishes, hamsters & turtles.,,etcall Nhoj purchased this little green turtle. About size of half dollar Not even sure his shell was harden yet . Not sure how we carried it home? Maybe in a box > Anyway he kept that turtle in the laundry room in a plastic tub. Watched it grow over the years. Probably about 6 years later that turtle got to big to be keep in the house any longer Big brown shelled dude. he knew Nhoj. So that turtle hung out in the back yard for a few decades. Nhoh named him Herkurmer Herkumer the Turtle Had a good run !
