I won an eBay auction for 24 lbs of agate. I haven’t worked with this stuff before. It looks pretty solid. A lot of the pieces will need to be sawed before tumbling. Photos are wet and dry.

Is Swali Rose agate the same as Mozambique Agate? I just washed some that look very similar to yours, which look more interesting than the crushed Mozambique I bought from Rockshed.

Taken directly from The Rock Shed's description for the Mozambique Agates on their website: "Here is a very beautiful batch of above average quality, crushed Mozambique also known as Swazi Agates from southeastern Africa." I checked mindat.org, and the didn't have a listing for Swazi Rose Agate...so I'm going to guess that Swazi Rose Agate is a name someone picked for marketing. It happens a lot where a "new" name is applied to an existing named rock. (Gary Green...aka "Freedom Jasper" is one example).

I definitely did not read the description closely when I placed the order from rockshed.

Normally I'm just focusing on the pictures of rocks and have NO idea there's actually words on the page too! LOL

I should try an ebay auction if you can get that type of rough.

Been working some for a bit. Nothing thru polish yet, but it behaves like agate and is going to turn out wonderful.
