Oh, geez, I wrote down the wrong ending date and I've neglected this! I loved all the ideas, and I'm going to use Liveoaks first, since when I run out of preforms, I may continue with slabs or tumbling mix. My favorite is the poem! So 25 for that. Second place is tied between Pebblesky (do you want tumbling mix?) Liveoak and Realrockhound (you would have done better, Realrockhound, but I'm terrible at riddles so took pity on those who are riddle-challenged).
So: Agatewhisperer gets 25
Pebblesky gets tumbling mix if she wants it
Realrockhound gets 15
Liveoak gets 15
Everybody else gets 10 (unless I run out, then you will have to wait a bit while I cut more. I do have a wealth of material that can be cut with a trim saw, though, which I can send)
Please send addresses!

But I do think jasoninsd will ALWAYS be cabbing ! It just wouldn't seem right if Jason wasn't cabbing  Somewhere there's a picture of some old geezer cabbing, maybe Jason can find it.

Susand24224, I would take a few slabs for making "worry stones" for gifting. It seems that an exchange table exists at my grandson's university library where students can donate or swap "worry stones". I have all the equipment needed and can work most material. I cut on a flat lap and finish in a UV-18 vibe. Thanks for what you might send and I don't mind paying shipping.

Okay! Here's the plan. I quickly realized that individually bubble-wrapping each cab could take me into the next century, (to say nothing of contributing to my mental demise) so I've shoved Agatewhisperer's into a bubble package as tightly as possible, then into another bubble package, then into a bubble envelope. I'm going to mail Monday and wait until he tells me whether this works with minimal to no chipping. If not, I'll suck it up and do it slower, if yes, I'll get the rest out within a week. And Agatewhisperer, if my experiment has destroyed your winnings, I'll make good!
Pebblesky, do you need your tumble mix broken up into tumble-sized pieces or are you able to do that? If you need me to break it up, what sizes should I shoot for? How do you feel about saw scraps?

When I opened this thread and started reading and my eyes saw half of the photo out of my periphery, I just assumed the first contest was going to be guess the number of preforms.🤓 And what number did you come up with? 😉 |
