Thank you. If you mean the orange, blank and white piece that is a piece of jamesp's Georgia coral. Chuck Trophy tumbles for sure Chuck. Glad the coral made the cut ! The coral brings back memories. That was quite awhile ago now. Pre glass era. Heck maybe even pre fire pit era? That tumbled piece and two pendants I made from top notch pieces. My aunt wears one of them and my daughter actually just took the other one from my collection recently. This is the one my daughter took. I had held onto because it was my first somewhat successful attempt at silversmithing. Practiced soldering on some copper a few times before moving to silver. Chuck

I can't seem to find one I don't like... some very fun material Drummond Island Rocks. What's the little green one? Thank you. The green is gem grade variscite. Really wasteful to tumble that piece. It still may be reworked into jewelry at some point. Chuck

Very nice rocks! My favorite is the yellow/cream orb rock in the second photo on the left (which appears to be a pair with the half at the top). I have been warming up to tumbled slabs and halves. I used to avoid them because they look less 'natural' in shape. Now that I have tumbled some myself, I have learned to appreciate what they can offer.
Good work!

Well it is flattering to know that there was a coral era Chuck. I guess the coral was a subject I flooded the RTH with. I met an old timer down in Florida that lived close to my camp. He got me started on silicified coral. He had property privileges around Tampa Fl. way back when in areas where the fossil coral was much prettier and variable than the material I ever collected/posted. Flattered yet again that your daughter and auntie favor your fine coral pendants too. The coral you fashioned in that pendant came from a small creek cut in east Pasco County about 5 miles NW of Zephyr Hills Florida.

Well that water matches the color of the coral so that tracks, lol Oddly enough I drove through Zephyrhills last month. My kid is going to college in Lake Wales which is about 60 miles due east of Tampa Bay. and I have relatives up in Brooksville. We stayed down there for two weeks over Thanksgiving and made a few trips back and forth and at some point the GPS routed us different so we ended up going through there. We did kayak the Weeki Wachee river. That was pretty darn cool. Chuck

Maybe you can pull off a coral trip on one of your visits. there is a big chert(gravel) quarry that is occasionally open to rock collectors near Brooksville. It's amazing to see chert boulders as big as houses there. some nice colorful cherts too. Bet the weather was nice for you.
