I've seen photos of river agates from Texas that resembled Montanas. Possible?

You sure picked a good one for a "whatsit" thread like this. Remembered hearing the name after it was revealed here, but that was it.
Search found some old threads on here about this material. No doubt the only reason I'd ever heard of it all.

All I really know is the area was on the Oregon/california border and was covered by water when copco dam was built. Just looked up the construction date and it was finished in 1922. There are multiple dams on the river up there so who knows, a hundred years is quite a while ago. edited to add that these dams have been approved for removal, if that ever happens I’ll be mucking around the dry lake bed lol! Nothing a few pounds of tannerite won’t fix
