No photos.
I received what I thought was a tumbled piece of obsidian or an Apache tear as a free be with an order. The seller always sends a few tumbled rocks with every order. I sent this to a friend with some other rocks.
She held it up to the light and discovered it is a very dark green. She described it as a very clear green with no markings.
I tried to find something similar, but came up empty. My friend looked in a couple books she has. Said it almost looked like green garnet. To me, that would be a strange thing to send for free.
Any ideas? Thank you.

Possible slag glass?
If you do a search on eBay for "green obsidian rough" there is a seller listing several auctions for natural obsidian that's green. It' a lot lighter than what you're describing though...

Maybe Wyoming Black Jade? It's actually very dark green.
A picture would sure be helpful.

My friend cannot take photos with her phone. She does not have internet. I wish I would have taken a photo before I sent it to her. The other free rocks in the bag were rose quartz and red jasper.
My friend described the color as this: An Apache Tear looks brown when held to a light. This looks dark, dark green when held to a light.

I agree with Robin, but it may be olivine, too.

The sellers shop is open today, so I was able to get ahold of her. She thinks it is green tint Apache Tear. She remembers getting some of these in a mixed batch of tumbles.
I have never heard of green Apache Tears before.

There is such a thing as translucent green obsidian, I believe from Mexico. I have a couple pieces in my stuff along with the Burns green.
