1dave, I’m glad to hear you were able to get treatment so quickly! Strokes are scary things and the quicker the treatment, the better the outcome.

I had a doctor's appointment at 11am on Dec 8 so I woke up and started to take a bath when I got really dizzy and decoded I needed to let my wife know I'm having a stroke. I did so, then went back and took the bath, but had a hard time getting out of the tub. I have no idea how I knew that and wish I had known more. I went back to bed and by then I was incoherent. Naomi called 911 and an ambulance crew hauled me to the Cedar City Hospital where they were able to dissolve the blood clot within the two hour window. Then I started having another series of blood clots as they hauled me to the St. George hospital and they tell me I became combative with everyone. When I became aware once more several days later they had a nurse with me at all times. Your Prayers worked. Other than a little vision problem with one eye I am back to where I was before the stroke - with home care for a while. 1dave Dave so glad to hear this news my friend!!

Dave. Glad to hear you were treated quickly. Strokes can be very strange and can effect everyone differently.
Looking forward to many more RTH posts from you. Any book updates?

Sharron has been very ill for many months. I don't want to take it away from her and self publish but I may have to.

Welcome back to your original self Dave ! I always wondered if you slaughtered and shredded the old pine laying at your feet with your trusty claw hammer. Or is the tree shredded after you had slayed Goliath with the hammer at this spot ?

He has to promise to take better care of himself or I will post them too. That's a threat Dave. Please take care of yourself or else ! Remember those photos you sent me and Scott ? No worries Jean, I would never post those photos on open forum of when you were a voluptuous 24 year old gal in a bikini in your prime<wolf whistles boys, the gal was hotter than Georgia asphalt on a hot summer day>. Just do us a big favor and stay healthy so you can continue to give of your wonderful self for years to come. Since you are married I will just have to settle with always loving you as a(little)sister. As you so clearly pointed out in the past I am older(by only a few months) than you ! That is fine, being older I will continue to have dominion over you as I have for so many years . And regardless of any spiritual changes I have made I am still fully capable of slinging all kinds of mud in many directions and stirring up a big pot(s) of trouble. But you can rest assured I have, am, and will be praying for you for a multitude of reasons. Meantime I expect you to take care of yourself, eat lots of salads, stay away from bad foods and rest well. Capishe ?

Well, at least you know that I am your little sister. The newest math is Feb Is the 2nd month, October is the tenth month. That's eight months. Capische? I haven't had a salad since I've been home, but ate plenty side salads and fresh fruit cups in the hospital. The pineapple was always my favorite. While in the hospital, they were always feeding me meat, like pork loin with Chutney on it. To keep up my strength, I guess. It was good, but I'm not a huge meat eater. Their food service was wonderful, and always put great meals together for me, though their portions were huge! Bob had an eye appt this am. He called the head worker guy to let him know we would be gone an hour or so. They are supposed to get pipe today, so they are rounding that up. The worker was here stiill when we left sitting in his car waiting. So far, nothing is happening. When the cat's away... I have no doubt that you will be able to sling some stuff in top form, and I totally understand where that8 comes from. You be you, James! I am so resting up ang getting better, I usually end up giving Bob grief when he fusses over me. Warm out here on the patio, it is nice. This Tillamook huckleberry ice-cream is pretty tasty. Later, James.

1daveI hadn’t heard of your troubles, but am glad you are on the mend. Since the stroke awareness write up suggests daily 30 minute activity, that means more rockhound trips, right? 😉 Wishing you the best in your recovery. markb. 😎

I wouldn't say I got over it. They sent me home. My throat is still sore, it still hurts to swallow, my body is still trying to dehydrate me. They don't care who I contaminate.

1dave Sorry to hear about Sharon. Hope she gets better soon. Sometimes I wonder what next is going to happen to many. Please do what you can to recover quickly. Your system was probably compromised after everything else you had been through. If able to share, what are you doing to be able to swallow, eat and hydrate?

Man, I hope you start to feeling better soon, but don't rush things.
I suppose I have been lucky as I have tested postive for Covid twice. In both cases the symptoms have been very mild, slight fever, a bit of a headache and generally blah feeling. Have not had a cold or the flu in years so when I started showing a few cold like symptoms decided to test for it. Because of my heart valve issue(since repaired) and a couple chronic blood issues(being monitored every 6 months), my PCP had me do the Infusion the first time and the 3 pill treatment the 2nd. She was just not certain how Covid might react with my health issues.
I consider myself very lucky as my symptoms were mild and in both cases I was getting better before the additional treatments.
With all of the health issues that several of our forum members are suffering with I have been doubling down on my efforts to make every day a good one. Not going to let some less than intelligent politician, newscaster, driver mess that up. Besides there are still way too many good people around to meet and enjoy their company, especially the exceptional group of folks who make up this Forum.

Jeez, Louise! I hope you start feeling better very soon. You've been through hell in a handbasket lately. Make sure you're taking vitamin D3 daily and take Mucinex in the BLUE box for some help with the coughing and congestion. It helps to loosen all that crud up so you can get rid of it.

Sorry to hear Dave. When it rains it pours. Or more appropriately when it snows it blizzards. Back to the prayer list for Dave ! Please get well ! Covid must not like me dodged it so far.
