General question about tumbling: how often should I check the drums, or should I check them at all?

Hello, fellow Tumblers! My name is Matt, and I am a 46 year old Christian man from central NC. I had a dinky Hobby Lobby tumbler about 7 years ago. Needless to say, I got approximately one poorly-processed load before it went bye-bye. This Christmas, my kids got me a much better tumbler from Harbor Freight. Two (2) 3-lb. tanks! Rubber-lined!Chicago Electric Tool Company, by brand. While I know this isn't "the" top-of-the-line tumbler, it's running like a champ as I type this. I am very grateful for it, and so glad that I found this forum. As I am a big-time rookie, I'm sure I can come up with enough questions to wrack everyone's brains!

Welcome from California. I’m not a tumbler, but there are many tumblers here and tumbling experts. There are sections devoted to tumbling. Good luck!

Welcome! You don't need a "top-of-the-line" tumbler to gt great results. Make sure you get good quality abrasives, especially in the finer grits and polish.
