I was thinking of liveoak Patty when I took the pictures. I got one of the back. This is a quickie hidden bail. I haven't tumbled and patinaed, yet. The pictures are on the kitchen table. The two crossing wires on the front serve no purpose. I just wanted them there. This is a long cab. 53mm. I didn't want to add length with a bail.
I am posting this to inspire some of you to maybe try it. If any of you do this, please post a picture. The trickiest part is getting the wires to line up at the top. Mine is off a little, but I was in a hurry. It's not really noticeable from the front. The stone is Blue G - Lawsonite.

Thank you Tela.
I remember the possibility was talked about a little while back & wondered how to pull it off.
And Thank you for showing the details of the back.
Obviously you had to - but still I appreciate the extra effort .
Funny, my first guess looking at the front photo was that the crossed wires went in the back & mysteriously made the bail.
Ha, but you fooled me.
Looks nice & appropriate for a long stone.
The design draws your eye to the top, since not much going on at the bottom. I can see with a long pendant is a very useful option.

You're welcome.
I've done a lot of others, but this one was the easiest. I think I have refined it to a really workable point.

Very pretty! Thanks for showing the back. I have never even thought about doing a hidden bail with a wrap although I've done lots smithing. Something I will need to attempt some day.

I thought I was going to have to figure out how to do a hidden bail...now that pressure's off! LOL Thank you SO much for being willing to share this one Tela! I actually like those two crossing wires. Blue G allows for a lot of leeway across the front of the stone...in my opinion! I have quite a few slabs of Blue G. Your finish on the cab is really good for what Blue G wants to offer!

I bought a bunch of Blue G a long time ago with several grades. The best grade, to me, is gorgeous.
