If you are or ever were a member of the RTH Facebook page, then you know of William Tessier. He is an OTR truck driver who is known as the rock pirate. He spreads pirate booty (rocks) around the country in his travels. He posts hand drawn maps or photos as clues to where the pirate booty is located. Tags a specific person.
William has brightened the lives of thousands of people.
He collects rocks along his routes.
His tanker truck is modified with a large ledge he uses to sort and clean rocks. He then puts them in containers and labels them as pirate booty, with a skull and crossbones on them.
Takes beautiful photos of scenery and anything that catches his eye.
He has stopped by or near my place three times over the past several years. I gave him some rocks to pass on with others. He shared some rocks with me.
William is currently in the hospital with heart failure.
From his posts, things are touch and go right now. He says he will probably need to retire, if he makes it.
Please keep William in your thoughts and prayers.

Wow. He sounds like a really neat person. Thanks so much for sharing. I’d love to see some of his posts/pictures. I’ll see if I can find something. He has an Instagram. I remember reading about him quite awhile ago here on the forum when I was perusing old threads. He's definitely an inspiration with what he does/did. Thanks for letting us know he needs to be in our prayers!

I even looked in certain off road area
doing something similar
Leaving rocks around the Zoo
The Zoo as pretty good southwest geology
Butte I figure I can add some exotic geo
For the diverse wildlife

2023 really is a shit year.
Love the rock pirate; always gives me a laugh (well, when I was on FB). He's a great person to have in our hobby. Will be keeping him in my thoughts.

Here is the latest update from William.
Everything up in the air for now . I have to wear a defib life vest 24/7. For an estimated 4 months trying to get next appointment for cardiac follow ups. Theres no way to tell if I'll be okay yet. Keep getting sudden changes in heart beat, breathing swelling
And pain. Sugar level nerves in legs are a problem. They wont fix aortic valve untill they are sure rest of heart and veins can stand the procedure. Heart is only pumpin about 15 to 25 % to early to tell
Yet. Alarms on vest went off twice last night. But showed no reason.

William is not giving up. After all, there are about 2 dozen rock pirate booty jugs in his truck right now.
He has rocks in his tumblers that his wife is managing.
He is at home, but can do limited things.
