Welcome to the forum from south central Arizona. Glad to have you here. I did a quick look at your website, very nice. I noticed a post on the Snowbird Mine in Montana. Thanks for taking me back in the way back machine. I went there sometime before 2013 can't remember the exact year but I do remember the great views and the long walk to and from the parking area. At the time I was a fairly new rockhound and didn't know a lot about rocks plus I wasn't in the best of shape. I may even still have a chunk of smoky quartz I collected from there. Ahh, the memories.
Thank you! The website is always a constant work in progress.
Sounds like you need to make a return trip!

You're welcome. It seems like everything is a constant work in progress, including myself...lol. I doubt I could even make the hike in to there now. I'm in worse shape than when I lived there because I've let myself get more sedentary since I don't work as a tree trimmer anymore. Truth be told I had a hard time making it back from the mine because of painful hip problems that have yet to be resolved. I was originally told the hike in from the parking area was only 1/4 mile when in reality the forest service had closed the road so the parking area was actually 4 miles from the site. I just kept hiking thinking it was a very long 1/4 mile. On the way out I saw the sign that said the mine was 4 miles away. It took me several days to recuperate. Not a trip I'm proud of for sure.

Welcome to the forum from south central Arizona. I love your shop. No wasted space. It's a good little shop but I'm always looking for ways to improve it! I do daydream of a slightly bigger space!

Hello Jared Welcome from NW Oregon. I’m glad to see you have joined RTH. We’ve interacted a little bit before on your YT Channel and I certainly appreciate the quality of work you put into the topics you cover. I think one of the things I appreciate most is that you and Sarah go onsite to reported rockhounding locations, then give us an up to date realistic overview of what, if anything, can be found there. Over the years there’s been so much misleading claims from several books of RH sites, some played out, some on private land now, some never existed and everything in between. Keep up the good work brother! markb 😎

One of the biggest issues with the guidebooks and other rockhounding sites is many of them have listings where the author never actually went and if they did there is never dates on when they went to allow the read to judge how accurate the information still is today and that doesn't take into account reprints of old guidebooks.
Thank you for being supportive of what I do.
