What's something you are terrible at that you wished you were really good at?
Not just casually bad like we all are with dancing, or something you don't have the resources or time for, but something you are legit bad at that you've tried, something you would love to excel at.
For me it's skiing, water or snow. I've tried multiple times and I couldn't do the bunny hill at a big Michigan hill called a snow resort. I was even that guy who fell of the lift when you are supposed to get off lol.
I also can't roller blade, snow, or skateboard. I've tried them all and I'm god awful. Crash often. It really eats at me because my balance is pretty good, I can walk skinny rails pretty well, or better than most I think.
I'm genuinely envious of people that can mountain ski, it looks like one of the most fun things ever devised, between the scenery and freedom....maybe next go around

Play guitar! My fingers just don't bend the way they need to. I can make cool noise but definitely can't play music. At least it was almost immediately I realized the lack of talent and didn't invest thousands on the idea.

I can't touch type. I've taken numerous classes, and have never been able to do it. I type very slow. It's awful. My brain just doesn't do that.

I was reading that there are people who have like number dyslexia, of sorts. I have always had a hard time with numbers. I'm not stupid, I just don't have a math aptitude. |

Dunking a basketball... I wanted to dunk so badly when I hooped, I think I got a tennis ball in once lol. Still to this day one of my favorite reoccurring dreams is me dunking in slow motion, I'm just weightless, soaring over everyone.
Also had back to back dreams last week where MJ was in my garage smoking a stoagie in my garage and wanted to go have a beer, and then me hot dialing Shaq up to get me into the Staples Center. Basketball was my life...

Reminds me of my old typing teacher in highschool, Mrs. Mendiville. She used to creep the hell out of me with back rubs when I was typing....crazy old coot.

Dunking a basketball... That guy in the vid has the hops just not the handle (hands....provided that rim is 10')........I can teach anyone who can just finger grip a rim & palm a ball, how to dunk. It's all about getting the ball up and over the rim with grip........if you're on the shorter side of 6' and have some hops. I know guys over 6.4' with puppet palms who can't one hand but can two hand.........having a good size palm and strong grip makes all the difference.......you can develop hops through strength training........can't stretch palms much, that I'm aware of......lol.......I was a serious baller from 13 to 30, always had hops at a young age. Wasn't until my growth spurt at 17 when my hands and height reached potential.....at least the hands........never got any taller than 5-11.5'........nope never made 6' but could stuff a basket ball like any 6-5' guy.........lol......yes, I too had dreams of one day being able to dunk.......remember the date and place it 1st happened, November 25th, 1970 at a home game in high school..........All 5-11', 145lbs of skin & bones stuffing that ball as if I was Gail Goodrich.......dreamed quest fulfilled......! |
