Date: January 18. 2023 Weather: Sunny with clouds, 35°F Destination: Isar, Sylvensteinsee, Rißbach (GER / AT) What's the best thing to do after you just spent a beautiful day outside? GO AGAIN THE NEXT DAY! ...and bring a friend. And so I did. First stop: A nice spot alongside river Isar, I visited back in June 22 for the first time. (Was the second spot from that day.) First thing I noticed was: It had definitively had snowed over night! That made the trip double worth it as no matter where we would end up, I would get a different experience from yesterday. We had a nice walk, my friend was loving the snowy scenery... and immediately started to look for some nice stones. And guess what: I picked up a few as well. Second stop: Just a few pictures at Sylvensteinsee, this time a bit of a different perspective as I usually focus more on the "right side" when crossing the bridge. This time we went down to the lake on the left side to enjoy the view.
The lake was partly frozen over so we spent the time walking around to take pictures and "tumble" stones over the thin layer of ice which left numerous little holes in it.
Competing for distance and the most "tumble holes" was more fun then I'd like to admit. Final stop: River Rißbach (AT). Exactly the same spot as yesterday... this time with "icing sugar" over the rocks and trees. Was a great spot to end the trip. The wild stream shines even brighter with the surrounding rocks covered in snow. An all around great day! My good friend got to enjoy some beautiful nature and find some colorful rocks. I got to see how much visual change just a litte coating of snow brings to the scenery AND found some beautiful stones. Gabriel

The reflections if the sky in the lake & half frozen lake were pretty cool. Extra nice you got to share it with a friend. Looks cold, but pretty. Thanks for sharing, Patty PS- bet it was cold putting your hand in the water collecting the rocks
